• Function

1.Preventing engine oil leakage: The crankshaft seal is installed between the crankshaft and the engine block. It forms a tight seal by deforming under pressure to fill the tiny gaps and uneven surfaces between the two. This prevents engine oil from leaking out of the crankshaft area, ensuring that the engine has a sufficient lubriion environment. For example, during the high-speed rotation of the engine crankshaft, the lip of the crankshaft seal closely adheres to the surface of the crankshaft, acting as a barrier to stop the oil from leaking.

2.Blocking external contaminants: It can prevent external dust, dirt, water, and other contaminants from entering the engine oil system. Seals designed for dry appliions (air-to-fluid interface) typically have a primary lip to prevent engine oil leakage and a dust lip to block external contaminants. In wet appliions (fluid-to-fluid interface), the dust lip is replaced by an auxiliary lip that can pump external fluid away from the engine, thus maintaining the cleanliness of the engine oil and reducing the wear and tear of engine components caused by contaminants.
